Working together to cultivate excellence in achievement and wellbeing for all. Our pupils’ success is built on a strong sense of who they are, what they can achieve, and what it feels like to be part of a happy and purposeful school community. Craigievar is a school which will prepare your child for a life where ambition, success and confidence are rooted in security, happiness and a sense of who they are.
Craigievar is a small, rural school in Aberdeenshire, situated approximately 25 miles west of Aberdeen close to Alford and the famous Craigievar Castle.
The school catchment area covers families living within the Craigievar, Kintocher, Muir of Fowlis, Corse and Cushnie areas. Children transfer to Alford Academy after Primary 7. The main school building dates from 1876 and consists mainly of two large classrooms, a general purpose hall/dining room and a library area. We currently have 37 pupils taught in two classes, P1-3 and P4-7 with a total capacity for 50 pupils.
Outside, the school is fortunate to have a large playground with a netball court, football pitch and several areas with play equipment. We also have a thriving Wildlife Garden and Outdoor Learning Area which is continually being developed and is used as a regular source of enjoyment and study by all the children.
