For the first half of this term we went on a coding adventure, which included working on a Moon Landing. We had to design, write, test, and debug algorithms to guide AL the Robot on her mission to safely board a Saturn V rocket for the moon! We are now looking at the Scottish landscape and our local area, and within this topic we are also learning about the life-cycle of salmon and other food chains.
We always love Term 2 because we start working on the Christmas Show! This year we are doing a whole school show and the P3's are playing the parts of mice, and the P1's and P2's are reindeer. Our topic this term is Forces, and in PE we are learning Dance.
We welcomed four new Primary 1 pupils to the class this term and they are all settling in really well. We have been learning all about the Egyptians, Vikings and Romans this term, and have designed and made outfits for our teddies. We enjoyed a fun Forest School session, building dens, bug hunting, and cooking popcorn over the firepit. We were also treated to a visit from Zoolab where we learnt about the Rainforest and met Seamus the Giant Snail, Ron the Giant Millipede, Luna the Tarantula, Flitwick the Stick Insect, and Nagini the Corn Snake.
We always love the summer term! We have got weekly Kodaly lessons this term which helps to teach us music and rhythm, and we will be doing lots of PE to get ready for sports day. Our topic is castles and we are looking forward to learning everything we can about them.
We learnt all about mini-beasts and enjoyed a super bug hunt in the wildlife garden. We also had some rugby taster sessions which were great fun
This term we learnt all about our body, including the names of our major organs, where they are in the body and how they work. We also worked hard to put on a super Christmas show 'Whoops-a-daisy Angel', which we performed to over 100 people!
We welcomed seven new pupils to our P1-3 class this term. We have enjoyed learning all about farms and food production and used this topic throughout our learning. At our end of term assembly we acted out 'The gigantic turnip' which was beautifully read by one of our P3 pupils. We have also enjoyed six, weekly Forest School sessions where we have cooked over the firepit, hunted for bugs, used saws, and made creations out of clay.
